SAFETY, SECURITY AND LOSS CONTROL MANAGER
(Senior Manager Role)
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To develop, implement, and manage the Company's health, safety, security, environmental, and loss control systems. The role ensures compliance with all legal requirements, protects employees, company assets, and property, reduces operational risks, investigates incidents, and promotes a strong culture of safety throughout the organisation. The incumbent also serves as the Company's appointed Section 16.2 responsible person under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Computer literacy (Microsoft Office and report writing).
Valid drivers license (code 8) and minimum 5 years driving experience
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
South African Citizen.
National Diploma or Degree or Similar Qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, Risk Management, or a related field.
Registered or eligible for appointment as a Section 16.2 appointee under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Minimum 5 years' experience in a health and safety management role within a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment.
Knowledge of South African health and safety legislation and related regulations.
Valid driver's licence.
First Aid, Fire Fighting, Incident Investigation, and Risk Assessment qualifications would be advantageous.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and company policies.
Develop and maintain company Health and Safety policies.
Develop, implement, and maintain health, safety, environmental, security, and loss control programmes.
Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits.
Investigate incidents and accidents, prepare reports, and implement corrective actions.
Coordinate emergency preparedness, fire safety, and evacuation procedures.
Manage PPE procurement, issuing, stock control, and enforcement.
Deliver safety training and ensure required employee certifications remain current.
Oversee contractor safety, security systems, access control, and site security.
Monitor vehicle, equipment, and machinery safety compliance.
Manage insurance claims relating to incidents and accidents.
Protect company assets through effective security, stock control, and loss prevention measures.
Liaise with management, regulatory authorities, service providers, and insurance companies on safety-related matters.
Recommend and implement continuous improvements to safety, security, and operational procedures.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to walk throughout production plants, warehouses, workshops, offices, and outdoor work areas daily.
Ability to work in manufacturing and construction-related environments with exposure to noise, dust, heat, and moving machinery.
Ability to conduct inspections at heights, confined spaces, and other operational areas where required.
Ability to respond to emergencies and travel to incident or accident scenes when necessary.
Must be medically fit to work in an industrial environment and wear the required PPE.
Salary based on level of experience and qualifications, reference checks & tests on Microsoft Office ability and driving ability will be done.
